The Storm

The Storm, was critically acclaimed throughout the northeast (see reviews). Produced by Lance Vardis (Rustic Overtones, Twisted Roots, Apehangers) and crafted with Joe Miglionico on bass and drums (both Chimera alumni and current Valves members), The Storm also features Chris Stanley and John Byron on percussion, Rich Becker on sax, and the late Bill Ryan on trumpet. The stark and riveting cover photograph was by Steve Collins and the stunning paintings on the back and inside jacket are by the wonderful Amy Weichmann. A decade after its release, The Storm sounds current and remains a beautiful and brave vision of soul and psyche.

Sorry, We're Open

I’ve been playing for years, but never considered myself much of a song writer. I’ve always been a side man in any band, playing other people’s tunes. But, as recording technology become more
available to musicians in general, I thought "Why not?", and here’s what spilled out. I’m
not trying to re-invent the wheel here. There are some familiar formulas, grooves and feels on this recording. However, these are the musical elements and grooves that made huge impressions on me when I first started listening to music in the ‘60’s. This is the sort of 12 bar, I, IV, V stuff that made me smile, and say "I wanna do that!" when I cut my musical teeth.

Note: These CDs have no direct connection to The Valves apart from the fact that some of us played on them. Just thought I should make that clear...
