The Worcester SummerNationals
The Worcester Crowne Plaza Hotel

7pm Friday night we will take to the stage at the Miller Beer Garden stage. What's the Miller Beer Garden? Who knows, must have something to do with growing beer. Anyway, there will be lots of cars, babes in bikinis will be hovering somewhere nearby, and The Valves will be doing those crazy things we do.
On a sad note, due to some important family considerations, we will be without the Mount Rushmore keyboard stylings of Johnny, JD, The Deuce, Mr. "I say it all with my hands so I don't need to use my face" Duesenberry and we will be going as a 9 piece for this gig. That's the bad news, the good news is, he will not be there to tell me I'm too loud, YAY!!!

Come and see the oldest piano player in Massachusetts* play at the oldest public park in the United States.

*OK, I don't know for sure that he's the oldest piano player, maybe just the most cantakerous.

It's the Dog Days of Summer, so we'll be having a "Who let your dogs out" karaoke dance party. Let's see which one of you can go "Woof woof woof woof" until everyone else in the club wants to violently end your life. First person chased out into the street by villagers holding pitchforks and torches wins.

It's the Hotel Vernon Halloween Party! There will be prizes given for the best Pirate costume, Skimpiest outfit on a woman's costume, and most candy given out. Well, not prizes exactly, more like thumbs up. Joe will personally judge the candy phase of the contest.

A Review

"The Valves are one of the best, if not THE best, R&B Horn bands I have ever amplified or even seen for that matter. The female lead vocalist ( Reagan ) has an absolutely beautiful voice and is quite pleasing to the eye as well.. and she plays Sax! Both guitar players sing and play great. Tenor sax player sings and plays great. Bass player adds any additional background Vocals. The musicianship it top notch across the board. They have all the instrumentation to make this music sound correct. So in a nutshell, The Valves can play and sing any song they want and nail it! Wonderful song list. They cover all sides of the R&B spectrum. I really enjoyed the band. Can't wait to have them back."
